Schwinn Electric Scooters- Going Green And Having Fun
With the cost of gas rising, more and more people are finding alternatives to using their cars, and many are turning to a vehicle your kids already know all about! The Schwinn Electric Scooter has long been a trusted name for parents looking for dependable and safe scooters for their older children to ride. But these days many parents are now finding that they're a great, comfortable and affordable way to get around to work and shopping too!
With rechargeable batteries and built to take the wear and tear of the street, and at prices ranging from about $250 for a refurbished mini S250 (note to parents, no seat on this one!) to around $599 for the luxury EZIP 1000 (now made by Currie Technologies, but it's the same great scooter), transportation just doesn't get more affordable! Move over, kids!
At the top of the Schwinn Electric Scooter line, the Ezip 1000 has the power for excursions, and dual suspension for a comfortable ride. It can go up to 15 miles per hour and has a range of about 12 miles per charge. Their midrange scooter, the Ezip e500 - formerly the Schwinn S500 - retailis for about $299, and has a similar speed and range. Battery life on both is good for about 400 charges and both charge in 4 to 6 hours - so many people plug them in after riding them to work! And not only does the Schwinn name grace affordable scooters for the young and young at heart, but they also make a respected mobility scooter for the disabled - the Schwinn Transport 3. For around $800, it's an affordable choice for the less than able to get around the home or office, or out to shop and sight-see.

Currie Technologies has owned the right to use the brand name Schwinn for their electric scooters and has been manufacturing them since about 2002. And they're continuing to make many models of Schwinn Electric Scooter, but now under their own brand name, the EZIP series. And the great news is, they continue to provide support and parts for many of the older Schwinn electric scooter models. |
